2020 United Nations Public Service Awards

In November 2019, the Automatic Social Energy Tariff was nominated for the United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA).
 
It is with great satisfaction that we note that the project won the 2020 edition in the category "Delivering Inclusive and Equitable Public Services for all" (in its respective regional group), asserting itself internationally, once again, as an example in the field of public services.

 
The UNPSA was launched in 2003 and aims to recognize excellence in public service worldwide. The purpose of these awards is to promote and reward innovation and excellence in public services in support of the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the principle of leaving no one behind, which is at the heart of the 2030 Agenda at the United Nations.

The Instituto de Informática participated in this Interoperability Process, enrolled in the Simplex + Programme, providing a service, via the iAP platform (Interoperability in Public Administration), which allows the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG) to validate with Social Security, for the total universe of customers holding an electricity supply contract, who are able to benefit from the Social Energy Tariff, respecting, for this purpose, the eligibility criteria defined by law.
