How and when to pay How and when to pay
Debts to Social Security, within the scope of a tax execution procedure, can be paid using the reference indicated in the debt notification or in the Single Collection Document (DUC – Documento Único de Cobrança).
The debt payment can be made within a period of 30 days after the debt notification, via the ATM network (the notification indicates the ATM reference) or at the aforementioned payment places.

If you wish to pay your debt, in part or in full, after the period of 30 days following the debt notification, you will need a new Single Collection Document (DUC).

The Single Collection Document (DUC) may be requested:
- Via the Social Security Online Service (Segurança Social Direta) – in the Conta-Corrente (Current Account) menu > click on Execuções Fiscais e Penhoras (Tax Executions and Attachments);
- By phone: 300 036 036 or + 351 218 433 320;

The access to the Direct debit system (SDD) is subject to a direct debit authorisation through the Social Security Online Service (Segurança Social Direta). To have access to this system you must be registered on the Social Security Online Service.
