To ensure, in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the management of Social Security schemes, the recognition of rights and the fulfilment of duties within the scope of social contributions and benefits, with a view to ensuring that all citizens have access to these benefits. To Promote social and family cohesion, personal, social and local development, and the protection of the most vulnerable groups, contributing to the prevention and fight against poverty and social exclusion in the Azores.
