Instituto de Informatica, I.P. (II, IP), is a public institute that, under the terms of subparagraph c) of paragraph 2 of article 3 of Decree-Law No. 196/2012, of 23 August, ensures the construction, management and operation of application systems and technological infrastructure in the areas of information and communication technologies of the services and bodies of the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security (MTSSS), in a logic of shared common services.


 
For this purpose, it is responsible for triggering the appropriate contracting procedures, provided for in the Public Contracts Code, to respond to the different needs in the field of ICT, at the ministerial level.


 
In this matter, as provided for in the Statutes of the Instituto de Informática (Ordinance No. 138/2013, 2 April), the Organization Area of ​​the Department of Organization and People Management is responsible, which is responsible for ensuring the development of procedures of acquisition of goods and services, to meet the needs expressed by the different organic units of the II, IP, according to the established plans and the legal standards in force, meeting the best criteria of economy, efficiency and effectiveness, without prejudice to the competences of the General Secretariat of the MTSSS.
